Speaking of MySpace, as I find new covers that allow it, I add them to the "2010" Playlist on my MySpace player. (Some artists do not allow their tracks to be added to other players.) Go to DylanCover at MySpace, in the Player click on "Playlists" and choose "2010." Older covers are in the various other Playlists.

Riem de Wolff

I Shall Be Released (3:48)
Riem de Wolff
Back On Track
CD: Silver Star/ZYX Music SIS 1118-2 (Germany - 2008 reissue)

As The Blue Diamonds, brothers duo Ruud and Riem de Wolff were exponents of the Dutch Indonesian-rock scene. The de Wolffs had emigrated to Holland in 1949. Their first record was released in 1959, and they had several international hits through the '60s. After Ruud's passing in 2000, Riem first recorded I Shall Be Released in 2001 with his son Steffen as The New Diamonds. He recorded the song again for the 2005 solo album featured here.
Pictured is a 2008 German-issue CD. The original album read "Mr. Blue Diamond" in place of the "Blue Diamonds' " on this reissue.

YouTube policy

Due to the ongoing purging of Dylan videos from YouTube - including many cover versions - I will no longer be adding any YouTube covers to the DataBase. It makes no sense to add covers that may be deleted soon after they are posted. Compounding the problem, some users are re-uploading their old covers with different descriptions, formats or credits, making it impossible to determine if they are new or the same as previously listed covers.

To continue being listed in the Dylan Covers DataBase, I urge performers to upload their covers to any of the many audio hosting websites and keep me informed.

Existing YouTube items in the DataBase will not be deleted, although it is likely many of the links are no longer valid.
