Miscellaneous ramblings...

» The next and last DataBase update for 2010 will be at the end of the month.

» Two covers in the Dutch Gronings dialect will be added to the DataBase at the next update, both are Make You Feel My Love but they are different translations:
- Wia Buze - Ik mag die aibels geern on Mien wad, mien stilte (2009)
- Irene Wilkens - Wait dat ik van die hol on Voutstappen in de snij [2010 EP]
Thanks to Hans Bosch

While there are probably "Gronings" covers listed only as "Dutch," these are the first two labeled as "Gronings" in the DataBase.
I appreciate any details about the dialects or languages of translated covers, either new or already listed.

All 42 tracks were taken from the same set of concerts at The Troubadour from Oct.29 to Nov.2 1969. TBR 1/31/11 (UK.)

Maffitt/Davies reissued

The Rise and Fall of Honesty, the 1968 LP by the duo Maffitt/Davies has been reissued on CD by the UK label Rev-Ola (CR REV 301.) The album has been called “a masterpiece of psychedelic americana, a strange batch of orchestral Psychpop and Folk-Rock.” The duo features harmony vocals ala CSN, Brewer & Shipley, etc.
The two Dylan covers - Just Like A Woman and Tom Thumb's Blues - are overlooked folk-rock gems. The album was produced by early Beach Boys producer Nik Venet.
The CD adds several non-Dylan bonus tracks.
