I have had the pleasure of working with Nina Deutsch in preparing a piece on her work for my Dylan journal, Montague Street. There is a unique pleasure to her interpretations of the songs: she creates subtle, creative, and engrossing experiences of material like Jokerman, Gotta Serve Somebody, or Tombstone Blues, which would seem to lend themselves to fatuous *pop-classical* renditions. Her work is actually a wonderful antidote to John Corigliano's ultra-fatuous Dylan project.
