Dylan remixes by J Period & K'NAAN

Not covers, but if you're interested in Dylan remixes and sampling you can get a free mp3 download of the Dylan portion of The Messengers, an album by hip-hop DJ J Period and Somalian MC K'NAAN at jperiod.com. The 22-minute program remixes and samples several Dylan songs, interviews & stage banter recordings. Remixed songs are Don't Think Twice, 4th Time Around, Lay Lady Lay, Hard Rain and It's Alright Ma.
The album's segments are downloadable separately, the other featured artists are Bob Marley and Nigerian musician Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

Steve (Wynn) Sings Bob

The first release of Steve Wynn's new Short Run Records label with be Steve Sings Bob, a compilation of Dylan covers by various bands and lineups featuring Wynn. Most of the 10 tracks have appeared before, either on official releases or otherwise.
The CD will be limited to 300 copies. Unknown if the album will be available via download services. Further details will be posted when available.

El refugio de la vibora I contains 16 Dylan songs and 2 traditionals translated into Spanish by the artist, Vol. II has 18 more Dylan translations. Vol. III features 18 Dylan songs performed in English. (Album numbers 13, 14 & 15)

R.I.P. Mary Travers

Mary Travers of Peter Paul & Mary has died at age 72 after a long battle with lukemia. The trio were among the first to cover Bob Dylan, popularizing Blowin' In The Wind and including 3 Dylan songs on their 1963 In The Wind LP.

Nuevos Éxitos de Bob Dylan (1980) added to Dylan Cover Albums

Nuevos Éxitos de Bob Dylan is a Spanish cassette released in 1980 with no performer credited. Reportedly all 8 tracks are by the same unnamed band performing in English. The band was probably not from Spain.
The tracks do not match the several other uncredited albums of the era. This unique tracklist features 6 songs from "Street-Legal" and 2 from "Slow Train Coming." Song titles are in Spanish on the insert, but all are performed in English. Romer 80-131. Unknown if there was a LP equivalent.

Rod Stewart Sessions

The Rod Stewart Sessions 1971-1998, a new 4-CD boxset of previously unreleased recordings to be released by Rhino on 9/29, includes three Dylan covers: alternate versions of Girl From The North Country and Groom's Still Waiting At The Altar, and an unreleased 1992 recording of This Wheel's On Fire.
The Rod Stewart Collector's Guide has been updated.

Beware: there are 3 possible Dylan titles on this CD by the Japanese band Highway61: Love Minus Zero, If Not For You and Hard Rain. Unfortunately, only LMZ (performed in badly pronounced English) is the Dylan song!
The CD is clearly titled "Strawberry," although many on-line sources list it as "The Last Album Vol. 2," but that title does not appear anywhere on the CD. Neil Young's Helpless is also covered.
