Now officially added to Dylan Cover Albums is If Your Memory Serves You Well by Les Fradkin. On one of the more rockin' Dylan cover albums of recent vintage, Les showcases his multi-instrumental mastery and pop/rock vocals.
Les was discovered and signed by John Hammond, Sr. in 1969, and was the first musician to portray the role of "George Harrison" in the Original Cast of Beatlemania, the hit Broadway show of the late 1970's. He sang and played as a multi-instrumentalist on many Top 40 hit records throughout the early 1970's, and has now found great success on Internet sales charts.

New in the DylanCover.com collection: Joe Ely

Winterlude
Joe Ely
to: Kate - a benefit for Kate's sake
various artist Christmas CD
CD: Western Beat Entertainment (no cat. #); 2005 (US)

Christmas in July! Although not really a Christmas song, the accordian backed Winterlude by Joe Ely doesn't seem out of place among the more traditional Christmas songs performed by these Americana/roots/alt-country performers including BR549, Buddy & Judy Miller, John Prine, Jason & The Scorchers, Steve Earle & others.

New in the DylanCover.com collection: The Sounds of Our Times

Too Much Of Nothing
(instrumental)
The Sounds of Our Times
Arranged and Conducted by Jack Pleis
Play Love Is Blue
LP: Capitol ST 2892 (stereo); 1967 (US)

The Sounds of Our Times was one of the many faceless studio groups that recorded "hits-of-the -day" albums in the '60s. This album is noteworthy for it's cover of Too Much Of Nothing instead of the usual Dylan cover suspects.
From the rear cover: "The Sounds of Our Times play the hit songs of our times in big, fresh, new, exciting arrangements for strings, brasses, guitars, alto sax, rhythm, and the haunting, expressive sound of the Vox electronic harpsichord."
