Miscellaneous ramblings...

Australia-based R&B singer Tina Harrod covers I Shall Be Released on her new album Worksongs.

Country singer Larry Jon Wilson covers the Dylan/Willie Nelson song Heartland on his self-titled CD, his first in almost 30 years. Larry Jon's last album, 1979's Sojourner, also included a Dylan song: I'll Be Your Baby Tonight.

The Allman Brothers' 2008 Tour CDs contain several Dylan songs, including their debut performances of It Takes A Lot To Laugh, It Takes A Train To Cry. Other songs are Highway 61 Revisited, I Shall Be Released (both with Bob Weir) and Don't Think Twice (with Susan Tedeschi.)

It was an election year, so Masters Of War was a popular cover again. Three from CD Baby: The Sweet Kill, Neon Nights, and Karma.

And... Masters Of War by the Hip-Hop duo X-Vandals can be downloaded HERE (free.) The track from their album The War Of Art incorporates elements from several other songs.

And... Warren Haynes has released a 2004 live recording of Masters Of War as a digital-only single to benefit HeadCount.org. The track, featuring Ray LaMontagne, Ben Ottewell & Jerry Joseph, was recorded 9/19/04 at Red Rocks. Available from HeadCount.org or iTunes.
