Last week was busy on the Live Music Archive, with 42 new Dylan covers added at the last update.
Notables include the rarely-covered Do Right To Me Baby by Donna Jean & The Tricksters (a recent addition to their setlists,) several covers by The Radiators from 1988, The Man In Me by Tea Leaf Green (a recent addition to their setlists,) You Ain't Going Nowhere by Big Sky Stringband (their debut in the Dylan Covers DataBase, note: their Slow Train is not Dylan's) and 19 more covers by The Rumpke Mountain Boys, plus many more.

Check out the new additions every Monday on the

Covers at MySpace

• Italian Dylan tribute band Jokermen have several covers available: Tombstone Blues, It Ain't Me Babe, Most Likely You Go Your Way and I'll Go Mine, Cry A While and Don't Think Twice, It's All Right
Robobob of Germany has several Kraftwerk-style electronica covers posted: It's All Over Now Baby Blue, All Along The Watchtower, and 2 takes of Lay Lady Lay
That Guy from ELO of Texas has a new cover of Buckets Of Rain, along with the previously mentioned On The Road Again. A cover of George Jackson is available on his Red Fizz page, along with On The Road Again. Both are available as free mp3 downloads.
Pat Nevins has posted 2 new performances by Workingman's Ed, Maggie's Farm and Queen Jane Approximately. Presumably these are from the W.E. shows posted at Live Music Archive.

Note: MySpace has introduced a new audio player. At present, the download function is not available. I'm told it will reappear eventually, but at present all MySpace tracks are listen-only.

New in Dylan Cover Albums:
John Corigliano: Mr. Tambourine Man

John Corigliano's classical song cycle Mr. Tambourine Man: Seven Poems of Bob Dylan gets it's first audio release on this new Naxos CD. The song cycle sets seven Dylan lyrics to new music composed by Corigliano. The work debuted for voice & piano in 2000, followed by a version for orchestra in 2003.
This CD presents the world première recording of the orchestrated version, with vocals by soprano Hila Plitmann with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by JoAnn Falletta, recorded in March 2007 with vocal overdubs added in June 2008. The CD has been added to Dylan Cover Albums HERE.
Not for the traditionalist, and perhaps better suited for someone with an appreciation of opera and classical vocals. It's arguable if they should even be considered Dylan covers since the music is unrelated to Dylan's original music.
While this is the first audio release of either version that I am aware of, a voice and piano version taped in 2000 appeared on the 2004 Voices Of Our Time DVD by soprano Sylvia McNair, and another unreleased V&P version with Hila Plitmann was broadcast on WNYC's New Sounds program in 2002, and can be heard on-line at WNYC.org. Both these versions omit a song, Masters Of War is missing from the McNair DVD, and the WNYC broadcast omits Clothes Line, so this CD is the only source to include all seven Dylan songs:
Prelude:
Mr. Tambourine Man / Clothes Line / Blowin' In The Wind / Masters Of War / All Along The Watchtower / Chimes Of Freedom / Postlude: Forever Young
More info at Naxos.com
Already released in Europe, to be released 9/30 in the US.

New in Dylan Cover Albums:
So Happy Just To See You Smile

New in the Various Artists pages of Dylan Cover Albums is So Happy Just To See You Smile, a collection of 22 new Dylan covers released by Hanky Panky Records of Spain. Most of the performers are from Spain, with a few exceptions (see tracklist below.)
Since nearly all the performers are new to me, it was a fun listen not knowing what to expect from track to track, which range through Folk,
Blues, Country, Rockabilly and more. All songs are performed in English (except for the Spanish lines in Romance In Durango, of course!)
A well-done and enjoyable project, highly recommended.

More info and listen to a few tracks at MySpace.
The CD can be ordered directly from Hanky Panky Records.
Thanks to Hanky Panky Records
